End of the year...2011

After Grandma Lynn passed away, I helped move my gramps to Utah. Having him not in Seattle has been a bit hard for me, I miss our time together! However, I am glad he will be loved like crazy by my family there.
Brin finished her fall volleyball season and is truly loving the sport!
#1 big brother!
Kenzie went to EFY with her best friend, I love these two!
Grandma and grandpa came to town for baby Jensen's blessing and stayed for Thanksgiving.
My girls love that little guy!

Grandma and grandpa with the grandkids after our Thanksgiving meal at Matt and Danette's. We were only missing our California cousins, Aunt Karen and Uncle Chris!
Love, love, love my monthly lunch dates with 2 of my favorite people!
Mike's Christmas gift from my brother and sister-in-law. It came with a gift card, but we liked the doll best!
After hanging out at Uncle Scot's for some New Years fun we came home to watch movies and ring in the New Year. Our kids are growing up because these are the only ones who wanted to celebrate (ghetto lids with spoons are my style).
2011 was a great year, we hope to have more family fun and big milestones in the year 2012!

Sweet grandma Lynn

Grandma Lynn was someone we all adored, she will be so missed!

The kids with papa and grandma G.

Aunt Amy posing with the girls!

Aunt Robyn, what a beauty!

Grandma Lynn passed away peacefully on Oct. 6th 2011. My gramps had gone to his room the night before to try and get some rest, they didn't think she would make it through the night. She made it through the night and into the morning. Gramps got back to her bedside at around 10 and spoke to her. After a few minutes her breathing changed and she took her last breath as gramps held her hand. He then kissed her on the forehead the nose and then the mouth. He then told her what a wonderful woman she was and that he loved her. How sad and beautiful at the same time!

My parents and siblings and super cute nephew Wyatt came for the funeral. It was a beautiful Catholic mass ( she was a devout member most of her life).

My gramps will now be moving to Utah with my parents to enjoy his Utah family for awhile. Look out gramps, it's going to be crazy there!

Maui with the hubby!

Ahhh.... Maui!

Mike was thrilled to have the waiter at this burger joint make him wear the skirt, necklace and hold that sign. He felt like a huge dork! You'd never know by the smile!

Lots of naps on the beach were had.

Cruising, my hair was pretty much a ratty mess everyday!

Haleakala National Park, we drove 37 miles from sea level to the summit of the volcano (10,035 ft.).

Just a little windy at the top!!!

A awesome view from the top

Mike and I had a great time in Maui. Besides visiting the crater we pretty much layed on the beach reading and snorkling. P.S. We did miss our kids!

School has begun!

Kenzie, first day of high school.

How Kenzie really feels about the first day of high school!

Well, school is back in session. Brinley was really the only one who was excited. She is my big 5th grader, loves school and being social. Kenz was not so excited, being at a new school was very nerve racking for her (me too, I'm not ready for her to be there!) , but she made it through and is kinda liking it. Colton starts back at the college on Sept 22nd, so he has a few more weeks. They started Seminary this week so 5:10 will be our new wake up time (ugh!) . That's the latest!

Don't be shocked!

Not sure Wyatt sees the humor in this picture! Someday he will, cuz that's funny! And just remember Wyatt, Uncle Bob did that to you!

Cousins, enjoying Gramma Sweets pool.

Love this crazy bunch!

Thomas cousins at the beach.

Homemade teeter -totter, how fun is that! Not very comfy on the booty though!

All hail the King salmon!!

Well the summer has come and gone. I have thought a million times about how I need to update my blog (and been reminded rudely by a few people, you know who you are), I just haven't had the desire to do it. So, this is my feeble attempt to post a few favorite pics from the summer. We enjoyed vacations to Utah to see cousins and both sets of Grandparents, the guys went fishing to Alaska, weekend getaways to the beach, sleep-outs on the trampoline a trip to Silverwood and lots more. Let's just say, we had a great 2011 summer!

Macey graduates!!!

Love her!

Coming down the stairs, stairs aren't her thing so she kinda held up the line. Oh well!

Finally noticing where we were all sitting, she starting waving like crazy and signing I love you!!

My niece Macey graduated last month and I loved being there! My brother's 2 oldest girls have down syndrome, they are amazing parents to them. They have had no limitations and have been so successful in their lives. Macey loves the theater, she has been involved in the St. George theater and all her high school plays for many years. She loves to see all the plays when they come to town. I love going with her, she's better to watch than the play because she gets so excited and has the whole thing memorized. She was crowned homecoming queen and had the crowd in tears! I'm so proud of you Macey, you make my life and me a better person! Love you!
